Lighting Exercise: Fishing Through the Day

This was an exercise in environmental lighting on a character: specifically, making the character feel enveloped and grounded in the scene. I ended up using another character from a D&D game, this time a tiefling. Since my main goal was to test out lighting, I worked through three different environments: overcast, starry, and sunny skies. This was done entirely in Photoshop on a 7623px by 2497px canvas in the RGB color space.
